Sunday morning we went to visit Glamis Castle. This is the childhood home of the Queen Mother. She married the second in line to the throne. When the Duke of Windsor abdicated, her husband became king and she became queen. When her husband died, the crown went to her daughter, Elizabeth II. Glamis Castle, of course, became the home of the Queen Mother's brother, and it was passed down through his heirs. Glamis Castle was also the birthplace of Princess Margaret.
