The Holyrood Palace is at the end of the Royal Mile which follows High Street from the Castle. It is the official residence of the Queen in Scotland. "Holyrood" refers to the holy cross of Christ. Next to the palace is the ruins of a monastery. Below are some pictures of the ruins.
