Gettysburg Battlefield, August 29, 2003:

Some of my family decided to visit the Gettysburg Battlefield this year. Needless to say, the pictures are not an exhaustive representation of the parts of the battlefield where action took place, nor was I able to take a picture of every monument. I have tried to give a description of the scenes that are represented and of the action that took place there. I have tried to be as accurate as possible, but unfortunately there may be errors in the descriptions. If you are interested in reading more about the battle, there are an innumerable array of books that are available. I would encourage you to visit the battlefield. The Visitor's Center has a very good bookstore and museum.
It was suggested that I color-code the names of people indicating whether they were from the north or from the south for those who are not familiar with Civil War history. It may make the text somewhat hard to read. I apologize for the inconvenience.
