Day 7, Part 1: Friday, November 9, 2001

Brenda had heard from someone she works with that the Cotwold area of Britain was very nice. We decided that we would try to see some of the area on Friday, our last full day in Britain. We took a train from Paddington Station to Moreton-in-Marsh. After walking around Moreton-in-Marsh a little, we decided to take a bus to another of the Cotswold villages. The first bus were came upon was going to Stow-on-the-Wold (does anyone know what a "Wold" is?) and Bourton-on-the-Water. Stow looked very nice, but the driver suggested that we get off at Bourton-on-the-Water. So we did. Bourton-on-the-Water was very quaint and picturesque. There was a stream going through the town with some foot bridges. It was so nice we talked about going back to the Cotswold area, staying in a B&B, and taking buses for day trips to the other villages in the area. We were told by the local people that the area is very popular with tourists, and we had visited it in the off-season. So if we did go back to the region, it might not be as pleasant and I might not be able to take pictures without a lot of strangers ending up on them. We'd have to think about that. Anyway, I was very pleased with the pictures that I did get.
