Postcards
These are some postcards we bought. Some are pictures of the interiors of buildings where photography was prohibited. I am including them on this page for completeness.

We found the above postcard in the coffeeshop from which I photographed the Salvador Dali clock. The card was free.

The above postcards were of the London Tower Bridge. We bought them at the gift shop which is at the base of the bridge.

The above postcard includes the Tower of London and part of the London skyline.

The above postcards are of views inside of Westminster Abbey.

The above postcard is of the throne that is found in Westminster Abbey. It was commissioned by King Edward (also known as Edward Plantaganet or Edward Longshanks) after one of his campaigns in Scotland. He had the throne made with the cavity under the seat to hold the Stone of Scone. The Stone of Scone was a very important relic of the Kingdom of Scotland. All the kings of Scotland from Kenneth McAlpine down through their history until that time were crowned on the Stone of Scone which was kept at the Abbey of Scone in the town of Scone which was west of St. Andrews. There were some claims that the Scots substituted a fake stone which King Edward took to London. This is portrayed in a book which I have read -- "The Path of the Hero King" (part of the Robert Bruce trilogy) by Nigel Tranter. If this story is true, what happened to this second, true stone? Is it the one which Queen Elizabeth II recently returned to Scotland? If anyone knows, I sure would be interested to hear from you!
