Our Helicopter Tour, Part 1

I had seen in some of the brochures that we received through the mail and some of the websites on the internet that there were airplane and helicopter tours available in the area. We had already been on an airplane tour in the U.S. Virgin Islands, so we wanted to take a helicopter tour. All of the telephone numbers we called were out of service. We were able to contact one group, but they said that they no longer give helicopter tours. We had given up hope, but someone at our hotel mentioned that helicopter tours were offered by a company in Gananoque, Ontario. We drove by the place, noticed the helicopter sitting there, and decided to do it the next morning. So Monday morning we arrived at the helicopter tour company a half hour early in order to make sure we were first in line. The people who sold us the tickets and gave us all the pre-flight instructions were so enthusiastic. It was almost like they were going instead of us.

This is the helicopter we went up in. It can hold six passengers. My wife and I were the only passengers on this flight. It was a 25 minute flight.

Here is information about the helicopter tour company: Fex Aviation, 900 King Street East, Gananoque, Ontario, Canada. 613-382-1104. I can't guarantee that they'll still be there. As I said, it seemed that helicopter tour companies are in and out of business. There is another helicopter company with at an airfield outside of Alexandria Bay, NY, but I was told by the people at the airport that the service is no longer available. But it is best to check around.
