RING OF KERRY
Iveragh Peninsula

This is the cathedral in Killarney -- a very stately building. It was morning, and the sun was coming from the other side. We were on our way out of town, and I couldn't set up at a good spot. I guess I'm fascinated by cathedrals and how much effort and technology went into building them.

This was one of the first roads through a village which had the building painted in several colors. The clouds are there, and the drizzling didn't stop until the afternoon.

I was interested in the raised area at the bottom of the picture. I can't be sure if it is recent or not. The Irish seem to leave a lot of remains of ancient or medieval structures alone, so they dot the landscape.
