Toppenish mural

Toppenish Murals. When Washington State was approaching its 100th anniversary of statehood, state officials asked that local communities do something to commemorate the event. The town of Toppenish decided to put up murals around the town. When we visited Toppenish, there were almost 80 murals. Painters submit paintings to a committee, and after it is approved, the painting is then rendered on the side of a building in town. I took pictures of several of the murals. You may notice that a few are in need of restoration. There is an organization in town that raises funds for that purpose.

This mural and the next one are two shots of one mural. There were too many cars parking in front of it, so I decided to shoot the mural in two parts.
