  1 Liberation Day A Jim Raynor Mission  
    Tasks: Destroy the Logistics Headquarters.  Destroy the 6 Dominion Holoboards.  Raynor must survive.  
  Description: Place Raynor behind the initial forces as they march along the winding street.  Half way through more forces are delivered by Drop-pod.  Keep all units selected and target individual enemy to minimize losses.  Eventually the inhabitants join in and help destroy the Logistic Headquarters.

  2 The Outlaws A Jim Raynor Mission  
    Tasks: Destroy the Dominion Base.  Rescue the Rebels.  
  Description: You start a small base.  Build a Refinery.  Collect the gas and minerals laying around.  Rescue the Rebels.  Then begin pumping out Marines and Medics.  Then destroy the Dominion Base.

  3 Zero Hour A Jim Raynor Mission  
    Tasks: Hold out for Evacuation (20 minutes).  Save the Rebels.  
  Description: Load Marines into the Bunkers.  Build up your forces to make it possible to save Marines that are in remote areas.

  Colonist Missions  
  4 The Evacuation An Ariel Hanson Mission  
    Tasks: Reach Dr. Hanson's settlement.  Escort Transports successfully (50 colonists).  Bonus: Collect 3 DNA chrysalis (+3 Zerg research).  
  Description: Train SCVs and begin mining minerals and gas.  Escort the first transport.  There will be little resistance. There are three main places where the Zerg come.  The first is near a Bunker to the West of the road.  The second is an opening to the East - halfway from the Bunker to the end of the road.  The third is at the ramp at the end of the road where there is another Bunker.  Build a Barracks and attach a Reactor to it so that two units can be trained at once.  Send out groups to the three attack points.  There are piles of minerals and gas laying around that will enable you to train units faster.  Keep sending groups to the three points.  Upgrades at the Engineering bay will also help.

  5 The Outbreak An Ariel Hanson Mission  
    Tasks: Destroy all 144 infested structures.  Bonus: Destroy the 2 Zerg Infestors at night (+2 Zerg research).  
  Description: There are three entrances to the base.  One is closed off at the beginning at the SW.  The two you have to defend right away are at the N and NE.  You start out with two Barracks.  Build the Tech Center at one and the Reactor at the other.  As you get mining and gas extraction going, train some SCVs.  Then build a Bunker at the N and NE entrances.  Then start pumping out Marines, Firebats, and Medics.  Some Hellions will be delivered eventually along with a Factory.  During the day send out groups of your forces from the two entrances and destroy Infested Buildings.  But don't forget to keep training more ground forces, and don't forget to station some forces at the SW opening - and build a Bunker there, too.  At night you will see two yellow crosses where the Zerg Infestors are.  You'll need to plan your destruction so that you can clear out the areas where those two crosses are, and then you will need to place some forces there before nightfall.  Killing the Infestors gives you 2 Zerg research points.  There are mineral fields at different points, and if the map is pretty clear in those areas you can build a
Command Center and start mining.  The safest way of tackling this level is to move your forces back to the base
before nightfall.  If you stay out after nightfall, you will see that the Infested Buildings expel Infested Terrans in
waves.  Your forces will need to be pretty large to survive at night (or they would need to be stationed in areas
that have been cleaned out).

  6 Safe Haven An Ariel Hanson Mission  
    Tasks: Destroy the three Protoss Nexus, and then destroy the Protoss Purifier.  Defend the colonist bases from the terror fleets until they can evacuate.  
  Description: If you play Safe Haven you have chosen to save the colonists.  The three Protoss Nexuses are protecting the Purifier with a shield.  You cannot kill the Purifier unless you have killed the three Nexuses.  The first Nexus is to the East.  It is lightly defended.  The next Nexus is South of the first Nexus, and the third Nexus is SW of the 2nd Nexus.  Each Nexus is better defended than the last.  The Purifier takes a path that will block all forces (who are intended for an attack on a Nexus) from travelling along the North-South road in the West.  You will need to move them East from the base and then down the North-South road on the Eastern side of the map.  While you are attacking the Nexuses, Build a Missile Turret now and then at your main base to attack the Purifier when it arrives.

  7 Haven's Fall An Ariel Hanson Mission  
    Tasks: Destroy all Zerg infestation.  
  Description: The main goal of the mission is to destroy already Hives that were created when settlements were infested.  There are three of these, and they are marked with yellow crosses.  While you are trying to build up the forces to do this, the Zerg are not sitting around.  There are several settlements that haven't been infested yet.  Every now and then through the mission, the Zerg attempt to infest one of these settlements.  The trick is to keep a force of Vikings that can scramble to the threatened settlement.  You'll need to destroy all air units and then land the Vikings to destroy ground units and the Virophage.  The fewer infested settlements there are, the fewer infested colonists attack your forces.  The settlement to the West is the easiest to clean out.  Then repair the Vikings and build a few more.  In the meantime build up a force of Goliaths, Tanks, Marines and Firebats.  Attack the infested settlement to the NW.  Keep defending non-infested settlements and destroying ones that are infested, and you will be able to win the mission.

    Tasks: Gather 8000 minerals.  Bonus: Kill the Brutalisk (+3 Zerg research) and locate Tosh's miners.

  9 Welcome to the Jungle A Gabriel Tosh Mission  
    Tasks: Extract gas from 7 geysers.  Don't let the Protoss seal 7 geysers.  
  Description: Send out two SCVs to the West.  There are two geysers that can be extracted.  The other geysers are more protected.  After the first extraction is done, a Protoss character says that you will be attacked, and the geysers will be defended - but extracting two at the very beginning gives you a leg-up on the task.  Goliaths are necessary, because the Protoss will send air units to attack the base, and they are at the geysers.  There will be announcements that the Protoss are sealing a geyser.  A force of Goliaths and Marines should be sent to stop the sealing.  Include an SCV with the force.  Kill the Protoss Probe, and the sealing will stop.  Then extract the gas from the geyser.

  Prophecy Missions  
  22 Whispers of Doom A Zeratul Mission  
    Tasks: Zeratul must stand on the 3 Xel'Naga shrine entrances, and he must survive.  Bonus: Destroy the 3 Hatcheries (+3 Zerg research).  
  Description: Zeratul starts alone.  He has a Blink ability which can transport him across gaps, and he has a Void Prism ability which allows him to blind detectors.  Zeratul is cloaked permanently.  Eventually he is joined by some Stalkers.  Use Zeratul's Void Prism ability to blind detectors.  Kill the detectors if possible before the Void Prism wears off.  At one point there are two or more Zerg flyers which have long-range attack.  You can try to kill them, but you will probably lose some of the Stalkers.  I found it better to conserve my forces and rush past them.  After the 2nd Xel'Naga shrine, Zeratul is met by High Templar Karass and his Zealots.  You cannot control Karass or the Zealots.  They will attack a large Zerg force, so you just have to let it play out.  Then you will come to the 3rd Xel'Naga shrine.  Kerrigan comes to let you know of the futility of your efforts, and a mass of Zerg forces begins following you.  At this point, you have to concern yourself with Zeratul.  There will be 2-3 rock blockages.
They can be destroyed by Zeratul, but it will take too long.  Just "blink" across to the other side of each and
rush up the ramp to the final destination.
